Losing motivation to exercise? Turns out Today host Karl Stefanovic is feeling the same, revealing he’s finding it hard to fit in a workout while he and his wife Jasmine Yarbrough care for their newborn baby.
Karl Stefanovic is in his eighth week of his 10-week weight loss challenge he set himself.
But even with the prize in reach, the Today show host has revealed he has stopped exercising simply because his busy life as a dad to newborn daughter Harper May, has put a halt on his progress.
“Between kids, work and daily chores, it’s easy for our health to take a backseat,” the 45-year-old explained on the morning show to personal trainer and former Biggest Loser star Steve ‘Commando’ Willis.
“Commando, [with] the newborn I’ve got at home, the time is right to start squeezing things out of the daily repertoire of exercise.”

Commando then suggested Karl should try focus on ‘incidental exercise’ instead, if he is struggling to find the time for a workout between dad duties.
The fitness expert demonstrated how Karl could incorporate squats and lunges into his daily chores while washing and vacuuming.
Karl was left breathless after trying out the exercises and was impressed by how effective the workouts were.
“That is good on the quads,” he exclaimed.
Karl had pledged to lose 10kg in 10 weeks on the Today show after he tipped the scales at 105kg.
The TV host revealed last month that after the first five weeks of the challenge, he went for his first weigh-in and had already lost 5kg. This motivated him to increase his initial weight loss goal and lose a total of 15kg to reach 90kg.
“I started at 105kg, the heaviest I’ve ever been and it was incredibly embarrassing,” Karl said, speaking to obesity expert Dr Nick Fuller.
“I’d like to get down to 90kg at the end of all this. You don’t think that is important but for me, it’s a big psychological thing.”
With only two weeks to go until his final weigh-in, it won’t be long until Karl finds out whether he’s achieved this goal or not. But regardless of the outcome, he’s doing a great job at juggling work and life as a new dad because we all know it ain’t easy!
